Ilene Haimowitz
Ilene Haimowitz joined the ARTery in 2002. She studied metal smithing at the 92nd Street Y, and has worked as a jeweler for about 10 years. Antique jewelry has been a major influence on her designs, particularly the work Art Nouveau master Rene Lalique. She works in silver, gold and metal alloys and embellishes her pieces with enamel and precious stones. She believes that jewelry is meant to attract attention, but should always be comfortable to wear.
