dsc_0818Diana Lesser, a retired textile designer, specializes in interior still life’s painted in acrylic and oil.  Her paintings emphasize the stillness in the term still life. There is a strong sense of peace and reverence that envelopes the objects she portrays. Her academic training at the Art Students League in NYC is evident in her compositions and brushwork.

its-not-always-black-whiteTodd C. Anderson is an artist working out of his studio along the Delaware River in Barryville, NY. His formal training was at SUNY New Paltz where he received his BFA in Painting. However he feels an artist’s life is a never ending learning process. His latest medium, encaustics, exemplifies his desire to learn new techniques. The paintings are done with an ancient technique of using pigmented beeswax. His goal in his work is to capture the timeless yet dramatic impact of the moment within the quiet, serene stillness of drenching light.

New oil paintings by featured artist Rosalind Hodgkins for August 5 – September 6, 2010.

These paintings are a significant departure from Rosalind’s signature watercolors of botanicals and birds. She has moved back into painting with oil in a style rich with layered brushwork in images that have an Asian influence. Reflecting an atmospheric realism and lush color luminosity, Rosalind plays with image scale and juxtapositions stretching reality into an emotional feeling of a space
to create a mood.

Artist’s Reception, free and open to the public on Saturday, August 14, 6-9 pm, coinciding with Art After Dark, Milford’s town wide event.
